Here is a report from two of our Korfball players that attended the tournament at YMCA Bishopdale. We had great results with 2nd and 3rd place.

Korfball Tournament Report

It was Wednesday 27th of November,a group of people went to the YMCA gym to compete in a korfball tournament along with two other schools - Te Waka and Rangiora. We were in two different teams, Halswell 1 and Halswell 2. Halswell 1 had their 1st game at around 10am. They were sweating hard, huffing and puffing. The end buzzer and a win for Halswell 1. Halswell 2 worked really hard as well but unfortunately lost their first game. Halswell 1 won both of their next games and proceed to the semi - final. Halswell 2 had two wins up next also proceeding to the semi - final. Next up was lunch and a fast training session with some coaches and referees from Korfball Canterbury. Next up we played each other for the semi final. Halswell 1 got into the final and in a tough game came out in 2nd place. Halswell 2 played again and placed third. We all had fun, played hard and fair! At first we were feeling very nervous as it was a new sport and experience for all us but we were excited at the same time. It was a amazing opportunity! We would like to thank Miss Fraser & Youri and all the parents took time to help transport us!
