Band Quest and Recording Studio news.

Recently our school Rock Band entered the Band Quest Competition. This is a competition held in different regions across New Zealand for primary school bands up to Year 8. Unfortunately, this year's event needed to change from the usual live event to a virtual event. The band had to record both songs in one continuous take and submit that for judging. The band received some great feedback including "Cool songs - well arranged, and a cool sound created by all of you. Nice to add in those guitar solo moments. Awesome job on this performance. I really enjoyed both songs".

Congratulations to Ashton for picking up the Killer Guitarist award and Sisi for collecting the Rocking Drummer Award. 

The band also recorded their songs at Mainz Studios in town. Above is a video of their time in the recording studio using the finished recording - please note the video doesn't match the vocal. A huge thank you to Todd Jones, our Rock Band and Bass guitar tutor, for working with the band and finding performance opportunities for them.
