This year Halswell Chess has gone great guns! Competitions aside, I have seen an incredibly increase in the overall caliber of the kids playing regularly, but also learning from mistakes, demonstrating fantastic character regardless of whether they have won or lost and most importantly being good mentors and friends to each other during our sessions. There has been a great deal of humour which is incredibly fun to be apart of. Although I won't be back next year, I'd like to reach out to parents and suggest this might be a great thing to take over and to get in touch with either myself or Rob Naysmith at the school to discuss.
