Parent Teacher Association at Halswell School —

The PTA will be holding its Annual General Meeting on 24 March at 7pm in the staffroom.

The PTA has been evolving over the past year to strengthen our relationship with the school and community and to introduce new best practices, including more community support through coffee mornings and how we approach fundraising. We would love to welcome some fresh approaches to the PTA and ask that you consider attending the meeting. For those of you who would like to be more involved, we would also love it if you would consider taking on a greater role, no experience necessary.

We are looking for people to take on the roles of Secretary, Fundraising Coordinator and Communications Coordinator. As part of the Executive Committee, this requires being available for two meetings each term and occasionally for a special meeting of the Executive Committee although most discussion is carried out via email. In addition, the main duties of each role are as follows:

Secretary: Manages correspondence including reading and answering email messages and takes minutes at PTA meetings 

Fundraising Coordinator: Ensures that fundraising events are spread evenly across the school year and liaises with groups or subcommittees carrying out fundraising.

Communications Coordinator: Writers newsletter articles on behalf of the PTA and manages the PTA Facebook page.
