Boys Night at the Library

Thanks to everyone who came to our Boys Night at the Library last week.  It was a great night and our special guest author/illustrator, Donovan Bixley was really interesting.  He told us about how he comes up with ideas for his books and showed us lots of illustrations from the many books that he has had published.  Thanks to our wonderful PTA for helping us to bring Donovan Bixley to Halswell for this night.

Second Hand Book Sale

This Friday morning, from 8:30-9:00am we are holding a second hand book sale in the library.  There will be ex-library books and some donated second hand books for sale, 3 for $1.  We will also have a lucky dip for 50c with stationery items like novelty pens, rubbers and pencil sharpeners (like the ones we have at the Book Fair).  Come along and have a look and don't forget to bring a bag.

Book Week and Book Fair

In week 4 of Term 4 (4-8 November), we will be celebrating our school Book Week. This will be a celebration of books and reading across the whole school. We will be having a book character dress-up day on Friday 8 November so your children have plenty of time to choose which book character they would like to come dressed as. As part of Book Week, we will be holding our Scholastic Book Fair in the library. This is a great chance to come and buy some books for Christmas presents, while supporting our library at the same time.
