Bruce Topham —

Over the next two weeks all of our Year 5 to 8’s will be attending camp. Year 5 and 6 will be at Pudding Hill next week and Year 7 and 8 at Wainui YMCA the following week. Many thanks to all of the parents who have taken time to attend these camps and support our children. Your support ensures it is possible to hold these ventures.

Camp fees must be paid prior to your child leaving unless you have made a personal agreement with me. Camps are budgeted to break even and we can’t afford to carry any individuals. While I appreciate that for some families the costs can be prohibitive we do have avenues to obtain support and some years generous school families have sponsored others’ children. This can only occur if I know that you need support.

The areas of construction, currently underway, are nearing completion. The classroom block, Pukeko, will be handed back to the school next week, the Ahuriri amphitheatre is just in need of a little asphalt, the new sandpits are in action and the reading platform, bell tower and friendship seat on the library lawn are only days away from being finished. These projects have been funded from reserves, which were acculumalate through budget surpluses generated by our International Education Business of hosting foreign fee paying children.

Once these projects are handed back to the school we will hold a working bee to put the final touches to them.
