In Weeks 1 and 2 Te Kura o te Tauawa Halswell School is taking the challenge and participating in Plastic-free July 2023! To enter our Plastic Free-July Competition submit a photo of a "kaitiaki thing" you do to reduce plastic usage. 'Kaitiakitanga' is about being a guardian of knowledge, resources and the environment. Photos will be displayed in our Library and a winner will be announced at the end of Week 2. Please email photos to Fiona Virtue Y5/6 teacher fiona.virtue@halswell.school.nz

Envirokids Christchurch has organised a ‘Plastic Free Sea Creatures Upcycle Workshop’ on Saturday, July 22nd at the Botanic Garden's Kiosk. Click the link here to find out more. This is an up-cycling workshop with creative junk, focusing on a plastic-free sea - with a fun spin on sea creatures!
