Library Events in Term 4

We have lots of exciting activities and events coming up in Term 4.  We are having a Spooky Week, a Super Hero Week, a Dork Diaries Day and Book Week along with our Book Fair.  It will be a busy, book-filled term!

Spooktacular Family Night

On Monday 30 October we are having a Spooktacular Family Night in the library from 6:30-7:15.  Come along to the library to hear some spooky (or maybe not-so-spooky) stories and do some spooky craft.  Your teddy or dolly can also stay over-night in the library and we'll take photos of what they get up to when you're gone.  Please RSVP to zac.mccallum@halswell.school.nz by this Sunday.

Library Fundraising at the Market Day this Sunday

I will be at the Market Day at school this Sunday from 9-12 selling new books from NZ's award-winning publisher for children, Gecko Press.  All books are $10 each.  I'll also have bookmarks and bags for sale and all proceeds will go towards new books for the library.

Parent Help with Book Fair

I would love to have a couple of parent helpers for our Book Fair in week 5 of this term.  If you can help before school (8:25-9:00) or after school (2:55-3:35) that would be fantastic.  I just need an adult who can keep an eye on our student helpers and lock the cash and EFTPOS away at the end of each session.  The dates are Monday 13 - Thursday 16 November (Show Week).  If you can help in any way please come and see me in the library or email me.

Parent and Adult Library

Don't forget to use our Parent and Adult Library to find some reading material for yourself.  This is found just inside the side door of the library.  The Parent Library is stocked with parenting books for you to borrow and the Adult Library has a selection of adult fiction that you can swap for one of your own books.  I'm happy to take donations too if you have any unwanted books at home that are in good condition.
