Family Night at the Library - Picture Book Magic with Ruth Paul

On Thursday 8 July, from 6:30-7:30pm in our library, we have the pleasure of hosting award-winning picture book author and illustrator, Ruth Paul. Ruth is the creator of such wonderful picture books as I Am Jellyfish, and the Mini Whinny and Little Hector series. Ruth will talk about her picture book process and share her books with us. Look out in the next newsletter for details to RSVP.

We also have two fantastic Family Nights at the Library lined up for Term 3, with Christchurch author, Belinda O'Keefe joining us to talk about her books The Day the Plants Fought Back and Partners in Slime, and Tom E. Moffatt will be joining us virtually for a night full of jokes and tips on how to tell a great joke.

Pizza Wheels

Keep filling up those pizza wheels to get free pizza from Hell Pizza. Children only need to read 7 books and get their pizza wheel signed, then bring it to me in the library to get it clicked.

Dyslexia Friendly Books

Did you know that we have a selection of books in our library that are written especially for children with Dyslexia? Barrington Stoke are publishers who specialise in books for dyslexic readers. They have a wonderful website with lots of great resources - www.barringtonstoke.co.uk. The books are short, printed on cream-coloured pages and use a dyslexia-friendly font. Check out our library catalogue to see which books we have. Your children can borrow these from the library themselves, but if you would like to get some to try with your child please let me know.
