In the last week of Term 3, we had 28 kids compete in 4 sports at the Canterbury tournament.
Our bowls team had a fantastic day with 4 teams entering the competition. Yannis and Jimmy placed 1st and Holly and Erin placed 3rd. The parent feedback from the day was that each kid showed our Halswell ACTIVE values and participated with pride.
Our tennis team was a mix of Julia, Samantha, George and Connor, who played in the boys section of the competition. They had to play both singles and doubles against each team. Getting off to a great start they won their first two matches and had one loss. They finished 7th overall which was a great effort from the team who showed what great Halswell Achievers they are.
The kiwi tag team placed 5th in the competition. They had some tough games but played with a competitiveness spirit and demonstrated a huge amount of teamwork. They had 4 wins and 3 losses throughout the day. A big thank you to Alex who coached them for giving up his time.
The orienteering team demonstrated their great orienteering skills searching around Hagley Park for the markers. They demonstrated an ability to work together to find the different markers.
