Tēnā koutou e te Whānau

I would like to start this week's newsletter by thanking everyone who took part in the recent community consultation process. Over the last three terms, the Board of Trustees has sought feedback from all stakeholders regarding our Vision for Teaching and Learning. This took several forms including parent focus groups, the gathering of staff and student voice, and most recently, an online community survey.

The Board met on Saturday with the Leadership Team and a representative from Ngātahu to review all of the feedback we had received. There were some very clear themes to emerge from the stakeholder feedback particularly around the need to develop strong learning dispositions in all of our students to allow them to truly thrive in life.

There is still some work to do on the new Vision for Teaching and Learning for Halswell School but we hope to be in a position to share this with our community in the near future. Watch this space!

Thank you to the PTA for organising the disco in Week 7. We were delighted with how the event went and a lot of fun was had by all involved.

Finally, I would like to wish you a fantastic Easter break. I look forward to seeing you when school returns on Wednesday 7 April.

Ngā mihi nui
