Rubbish Free Lunches

It is great to see lots of children using rubbish free lunch boxes. Remember, we are a rubbish free school so any litter that arrives at school in lunches needs to be returned home.

Here's some tips to reduce the litter that is bought to school:

A Message from Our Chickens

"You may have noticed we are starting to lose our feathers. We are going to look pretty scruffy soon. This is just normal for us chickens as with cats and dogs moulting in the hotter months. We will stop laying eggs and put all that protein into making our new feathers."

Did you know that an estimated 3.6 billion smartphones will be in circulation by 2020? That’s almost half of the global population owning a smartphone!

Mobile phones contain minerals and mining for these in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) drives illegal bushmeat hunting, destroys crucial chimpanzee and gorilla habitat, and has been the cause of human conflict and civil unrest.

Want to do something about it?

Check out this website for more information. We are collecting used cell phones in a box at the school office until 26th March. All phones donated will be data wiped and either refurbished and resold or dismantled and recycled. These organisations will then donate the money raised to JGI, which will be used to support the work of Dr Jane Goodall by funding our conservation programs in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
