Cameron and Keira here, we are your sports leaders for 2019. We are starting a Give Gear Get Great sports bin at Halswell School so we can help in our community.

The Give Gear Get Great campaign is run by the Christchurch City Council and was first started by community boards. It is all about donating outgrown, old or unused sports equipment to the people and children in our community that need it. The aim is to provide people, especially kids, with sports gear and equipment so they can play and get involved in new sports, as normally buying equipment is the barrier for children playing or starting sport. 

WHAT WE WANT YOU TO DO! 

We would love it if you could drop off outgrown, old or unused equipment or gear into the bright blue bin outside the school office on the school side. You could donate outgrown football or rugby boots that are sitting at home or netballs you don't use anymore. Let’s get behind this awesome idea to get all children in our community have the opportunity to play sport and go for their dreams of becoming a famous sports player.
