Dear parents,

The Board of Trustees is delighted to announce the appointment of Stuart Cameron as principal to take over from Bruce. Stuart will take up the role at the beginning of term 1 next year.

Stuart is currently the principal of Sumner Primary School and has been for 9 years. The Board would like to thank the teaching staff, parents, and children who provided feedback about what qualities you wanted in a new Principal. From these comments the Board was able to set a criteria to work towards and in Stuart we believe we have found someone special that meets these qualities. Halswell is a high functioning school thanks to Bruce’s leadership and hardworking and dedicated staff. The Board does not see a change of direction with Stuart’s appointment but he will bring is own ways of doing things as the school continues to strive for excellence in education.
