Book Week and Book Fair

Next week we will be celebrating Book Week. Starting on Monday 13 November and running until Thursday 16 November we will have a week long celebration of books and reading that will feature our Scholastic Book Fair. Throughout the week your children will have a strong literacy focus, sharing favourite stories and doing book-related activities in their learning centres..

The Book Fair will be open in our school library each day between 8:30am-9:00am, 1:30pm-2:00pm and 3:00pm-3:30pm. Every purchase that you make means we get some great new books for our library. We will also have a Family Evening on Wednesday 15 November, from 6:30pm-7:30pm, with stories, games and competitions for the whole family.

As part of Book Week we will also be having a Book Character Dress-up Day on Wednesday 15 November. Children can come to school dressed as their favourite book character and we will have a book character parade for the children to show off their costumes at 9:15am in the school hall. Children in Orongomai and Otumatua will have swimming during this week so a couple of T groups will unfortunately miss the parade. If those who are swimming could please keep their costumes simple it will make it easier to remove them for swimming.
