Enrolment Zone Review

Board of Trustees —

Consultation closing soon.

As informed in the last newsletter, the Ministry of Education has started a consultation process about proposed changes to the Halswell School enrolment scheme home zone. This change is needed due to the rate of residential growth underway across the local area and the resultant risk of overcrowding at Halswell School. There are several areas of overlap between the home zones of Halswell School and other neighbouring schools. The proposed enrolment scheme changes will mean Halswell School will withdraw from some of these areas

You can read about this by and submit your feedback by visiting the MoE's consultation hub. A link is also available on the front page of our school website. The consultation period closes on 7 June.

The Ministry is interested in feedback regarding the different areas on the attached map. Area A will remain as the main part of the Halswell School home zone. Areas B – G are areas proposed to be removed from the Halswell School home zone. If you live in this area and your child currently attends Halswell School, this will not affect you. If you live in one of these areas, have a child currently attending Halswell School and have a younger child intending to enrol at Halswell School, you may be eligible for the ‘additional entitlement to enrol’ provision which the Ministry is considering.

Please read all the information on the website when placing your feedback.
