Red and Black Crusaders Mufti Day this Friday.

Student School Leaders —

On Friday we are holding a ‘Red and Black’ mufti day to demonstrate our support for the Crusaders, as they are playing in a decisive final on Saturday. Can you please make sure your children dress up in Red or Black colours, so we can support the Crusaders. We will be taking a whole school photo at Morning Tea and Halswell School will be in to win some prizes.

Please bring a donation, which will go to support the annual appeal for our Westpac Helicopter Trust. By making a generous donation we can all help save lives.

  • The service is only 30% government funded. They rely on community support from

individuals, businesses, community groups and schools to keep the helicopter in

the air.

  • The Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust needs to raise $7 million from the

community every year to continue to provide the Air Rescue Service.

  • Each mission costs on average $8,625 (based on one hour flight-time).

  • The air rescue crew are on-call 24/7.

  • Since 1989 the region’s Air Rescue Service has undertaken over 10,000 missions.

  • Over a 24 hour period, an average of 3 people in Canterbury and the West Coast place

their lives in the hands of the Air Rescue crews.

Thank you
