School Uniform

BRUCE TOPHAM —

This school does have a uniform and our children are expected to wear it.

The Board’s Policy States: ‘Students are expected and encouraged to take pride in their general appearance.

‘The uniform is available online from Argyle Uniforms.

‘The wearing of jewellery and the carrying of large sums of money is strongly discouraged. Only studs and sleepers are to be worn in pierced ears. Māori necklaces that contain meaning for the wearer are permitted, as are bracelets of special significance.’

With the onset of winter we are noticing an increase in non uniform over garments. While non school rain jackets are permitted if other fashion wear is tolerated by staff pressure will go back onto homes; ‘It’s not fair. I need a ...... All my friends are allowed.’ A very good reason support the wearing of only uniform items.

We do have an excellent uniform jacket item which is worn outside by many of our children. Children are wearing mid layers of red and black, mainly merino, which we are accepting so that the jacket is not worn inside. In the not to distant future Argyle will be able to provide a mid layer that will replace the polo fleece. Please support the wearing of correct uniform.
