Zac McCallum —

Find out about our Summer Reading programme and book returns for the end of the year.

Halswell Summer Reading

Our Summer Reading programme is now open for any Halswell children (who are returning in 2018) to join.  To sign up children just come and pick up a letter and permission slip from the library, get it signed by a parent or guardian and then bring it back to the library.  Each child who signs up can take up to 12 books home from the library for the summer holidays.  The first 150 children who sign up also get a goodie bag, which includes bookmarks, stationery, book recommendations, a voucher to use at Hornby PaperPlus in January and a challenge sheet for the Christchurch City Libraries' Summer Reading programme.

To take part in this children will need to make sure that all overdue library books have been returned.

A huge thank you to Simon Grant from PaperPlus Hornby for providing our Summer Reading bags and the goodies to go in them.  Make sure you pop in to PaperPlus Hornby this summer for your own summer holiday entertainment.

End of Year Library Returns

For those children who are not returning to Halswell School next year and anyone who is not signing up for summer reading please return all library books by Friday 15 December.

If your child has lost a book or books please email me or come and see me in the library before school on Monday, Thursday or Friday morning. We don't charge for lost books so please just let me know so that I can mark it in our library system.

Thank You!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported our library this year!  We had some fantastic family events, like our Girls Night and Boy's Breakfast, and our Book Fairs have been our most successful yet, raising a total of $3000 for the library this year.

Special thanks to the PTA who funded our Parenting Library and to Simon Grant and his team at PaperPlus Hornby for their ongoing support with everything we do in the library.
