The Otumatua Healthy Snack Challenge

In Otumatua (Year 6/7/8) block we had to design a healthy snack to meet a specific brief. If we produced the best one in the class, we could proceed to the Dragon’s Den for Healthy Snacks. We decided that we were going to make a scroggin bar. We also had to make an advertisement, packaging and a pitch to accompany our product.

On the day of the final Dragon’s Den, we had to answer questions about our products, shelf life, carbon footprint, price and food safety. We were lucky enough to have Mr Cameron, and Mrs Pettersen (who was roped in when she came in to visit), as our judges.

It was a great experience creating our advertisement, writing our pitch, designing our packaging and presenting our amazing products! The teachers even asked for the recipe! We were very pleased to win the competition :)
