Thanks for supporting our Book Fair 

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Book Fair, whether that was buying a book or two for your children or helping behind the counter.  We raised lots of funds for our library which means there will be lots of fantastic new books coming in soon.

Dave Pigeon Extravaganza

Our launch party for Swapna Haddow's new Dave Pigeon book, Royal Coo, is on next Tuesday night from 7-8pm.  There will be some really cool craft activities, a chance for a royal photo, cake, drinks and nibbles, and Swapna will share a snippet or two from her new book.  There will also be the chance to buy the Dave Pigeon books and get your copy signed.  There will be EFTPOS available on the night.  This is a fun event for the whole family.

Laugh Out Loud Week

Our Dave Pigeon Extravaganza is part of our Laugh Out Loud Week in the library next week.  We'll be highlighting all of the hilarious books and characters we love.  I've been in touch with some great authors of funny books to find out why they love funny stories, so there will be a big display of their answers and their books.  There is also going to be a joke competition.  All you need to do is write down your favourite joke, put it in the entry box and I'll compile them in to a book of our favourite jokes.  It can either be a joke that you've read somewhere before or you can make up your own joke.  I'll pick a couple of my favourite jokes from the entries and they will win a funny prize pack.
