Public Health Nurse

Do you know about the public health nursing service?

The Public Health Nursing service can be accessed through school and can provide nursing support for any unmet health needs such as:

  • Wetting and/or soiling
  • Hygiene and/or headlice
  • Nutrition concerns
  • Sleep issues
  • Inadequate management of diagnosed conditions such as asthma, eczema.

How can the Public Health Nurse support your family?

The Public Health Nruse can:

  • Meet with you at home/school/workplace/café to talk about how to manage your children’s health problems in a way that suits your family, and work with you while you get sorted.
  • Attend health appointments with you and your child to support you to have your questions answered.
  • Support teachers to manage your child’s health issue during the school day by providing advice and support.
  • Access further support with your consent and follow through to make sure that you get the support that you want.
