Tēnā koutou e te Whānau

Term 2 is well underway! Highlights so far have been the Mihi Whakatau where we welcomed new students and whānau to our school and the Year 5-8 Cross Country held at the Halswell Quarry where our students showed grit and determination. Tomorrow our Year 0-2 students will get into action with their Fun Run which is held in the school grounds with the help of senior students.

Another highlight was Ahuriri and Huritini’s assembly last Friday where they shared their learning on how to be kind to others. We actively and explicitly teach social skills across the school linking them to our school values. Ahuriri and Huritini’s assembly items last week were a great example of this in action. In case you were unable to attend the assembly, press play to see a little of what they shared. We loved their kindness recipes!

Next week Ōtūmatua staff and students head off on their camp adventure to Aoraki. We wish them all the best for a wonderful EOTC experience and are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather so they can enjoy all the natural beauty the region has to offer.
