Laugh Out Loud Storytime - next Wednesday

Come along to our library next Wednesday night, between 6:30-7:00pm for our Laugh Out Loud Storytime.  You can come dressed in your pyjamas and enjoy some super silly stories read by Mr McCallum. This is for the whole family so younger siblings can come along too.  Please RSVP to zac.mccallum@halswell.school.nz.

Scholastic Book Club orders

The Scholastic Book Club orders have been delivered to your children.  If you are missing an order I have a few that were marked as 'Gift' and one with no name attached.  If you think you should have received an order but you haven't got it please email me and I can organise to have this in the school office for you to collect.

Thanks to everyone who placed an order in the last Book Club. All orders give us rewards points that we then spend on new books for our library.  There will be two more opportunities to buy books from the Scholastic Book Club in Term 3 and our Scholastic Book Fair in Term 4.

Family Event in Term 3 - Picture Book Magic with Juliette MacIver

On Wednesday 29 July from 6:45-7:30pm, we have Picture Book Magic with Juliette MacIver. Juliette is the creator of Marmaduke Duck and the Marmalade Jam, Queen Alice’s Palaces and That’s Not a Hippopotamus! It’s going to be a fun night with Juliette sharing some of her stories with us and showing us how she writes a picture book.

This is the same night as the Learning Conferences so you could always have a later conference time with your child's teacher and come along to this event afterwards.
