Winter Olympics Day Year 4-8

Communications Leaders —

Last week Halswell School year 4-8s competed in a house competition. The year 8 Physical Activity Leaders (PALS) ran activities such as speed skating, skeleton racing, biathlon, ice hockey, curling, ski jumping, slalom and many more. We would like to give a huge thank you to Steve from Kelly sport. He was amazing at organising all the events. This was the first house event we as a school have had in many years. All the kids were put into groups based  on their houses (Guinea, Megson, Foster, and Mossman) these houses are named after past Principals. They competed in countries and in the end the overall winner was Megson.

Now we have some kids opinions on the day. Hi I’m Flynn I'm from T34 and I’m 9. My favourite part of the day was the activities. I especially liked the ice hockey. I competed with Foster and my country was Ireland. I think the events was a great idea and everyone loved it. I would definitely rate the day a 10 out of ten.

My name is Isobelle, I am from T32 and I’m 8. My favourite part of the day was the ice hockey. I competed for Foster, and my country was Italy. I would rate the day 10 out of 10!!! It was lots of fun.
