Implementation of new enrolment scheme

Board of Trustees —

To avoid overcrowding or the likelihood of overcrowding, the Halswell School Board of Trustees has implemented an amendment to our enrolment scheme that has been developed by the Secretary for Education. Under this scheme, students will be enrolled if they live within the home zone. A detailed description of the amended new home zone that will apply from 1 January 2022 is attached.

Prospective students who have a sibling enrolled at the school on 21st September 2021, whose addresses have become out of zone as a result of this amendment, will be treated as in-zone students for enrolment purposes, as defined under the Additional Entitlement to Enrol section of the attached enrolment scheme. The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020. The enrolment scheme, which includes a precise description of the home zone, may be viewed at the school office and will be available on our school website in the near future.
