Kia ora e te Whānau

Isn't it great to have a touch of Spring in the air! I was delighted to be able to spend yesterday morning with the Kōwhai studio at their Living Springs Camp. This is a great introductory camp for our Years 5&6 students, and for some, is the first time they have experienced overnight stays away from whānau. Living Springs provides an excellent range of activities and events to keep the children occupied, including archery, swimming, rope climbing, and the infamous monorail.

Opportunities like these just wouldn't be possible without the support of our parents, and as always, we were fortunate to have a great group on camp this year. I also want to acknowledge the huge amount of extra work that our teachers put into organising these events for our students. Anita Head and her team have done a great job pulling the camp together, especially with the added requirements dictated by the Covid-19 settings.

Finally, a reminder that school will be closed on the last Teacher Only Day of the year on Monday (29 August). The day will be used by our staff for professional development on the new Aotearoa New Zealand histories curriculum that will come into effect next year.

Thank you for making altenative arrangements for your children on Monday.
