Tracey Mora & Cathie Zelas —

Last night, our talented Years 5-8 students kicked off our Opening Night of “Around the World in 8 Folktales’ with a mesmerising performance!

“Around the World in 8 Folktales’ is not only an entertaining journey but also a celebration of diversity and cultural heritage. Our students have explored a rich tapestry of stories that make up our global community, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of differing cultures and traditions. Come along and be prepared for a vibrant display of music, dance and theatrical flair!

If you haven’t purchased tickets yet, do not worry as there will be door sales tonight and tomorrow night. You do not want to miss out!

We are looking forward to our Year 0 - 4 students showcasing their arts learning, in their Wearable Arts Exhibition next week.

Staff updating

Stuart returns from his sabbatical at the beginning of next week. We are all looking forward to his return and finding out about his research into Positive Education programmes in schools. It’s been a pleasure to lead the school in his absence with such a wonderful hard working staff and fantastic students and community. We’d like to say a special thank you to Anita Head who has given us amazing support, picking up aspects of our regular jobs this term, to enable us to do the acting principal role. Thank you also to all our other staff who have helped and supported us throughout the term.

With Anita returning to her T group teaching role, and Anna DeFrancis starting her parental leave, Ally Lee-Coll will move from teaching T30 to teaching T21 from the start of next term. We wish Anna all the very best for the next exciting chapter in her life.

Our next New Entrant T group (T4) will start at the beginning of Term 3 with Sara Carter teaching them. T4 will be part of the Ahuriri team but will be based in Kāhu.

As this is the last newsletter of the term, if we don’t see you beforehand we wish everyone a restful holiday break.

Ngā mihi nui
