Tēnā koutou e te Whānau

Thank you to all of the parents and students who participated in the Learning Conference last Tuesday and Wednesday. We were delighted with the turnout. This was no doubt influenced by the fact that last week was the first time many parents have had the opportunity to meet in person with T group teachers. I hope that you found the experience worthwhile and the conferences helped you better understand how well your child(ren) is progressing this year. I know that the teachers certainly enjoyed the meeting with you and look forward to this continuing now that the reduction in Covid-19 controls allows it.

Next week (Tuesday 16 August) is the final meeting of our current School Board. I would like to take the opportunity to extend a huge thank you to Rob Dixon (Presiding Member), Natasha Buckby, Michelle Bishop, Shaun Perrin, Ged Robinson, staff representative Anita Head and former Board members Giarne Harrison and Francesca Brown for all of their hard work governing the school over the past three years. Their contribution to our school during this time has been outstanding. Under their governance, the school has completed an enrolment zone review, investment over $500,000 in property improvements and successfully navigated our school through over two and half years of the Covid-19 pandemic. Perhaps their most important and enduring contribution will be the mahi they have done with the community consultation process leading to the development of our new vision and values. This will have an ongoing impact on our school for many years to come.

They have been a fantastic group of parents to work alongside, and I'm sure you will join me in acknowledging them for all of their efforts.

Please see the 'School Board Announcement' article in this newsletter for details about who will take over as the newly elected board.
