Air New Zealand - NZ Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering (Level 3)
Students must pass a placement test to to be offered an Air New Zealand apprenticeship in Aeronautical Engineering.
Our NZQA approved, 36-week, Level 3 Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering, is a pre-requisite qualification to then apply for an apprenticeship with Air New Zealand Engineering & Maintenance and other general aviation industry employers including Christchurch Engine Centre, Defence Force, Rocket Lab, Dawn Aerospace, Salus Aviation, Hamilton Jet & Mission Aviation Fellowship.
PLACEMENT TESTING
Mandatory prerequisite
Successfully passing the placement test is the first step towards being offered a place on the 36 week, New Zealand Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering (Pre-employment Skills) - Level 3. You will be tested on your English, Maths/Physics (based on Year 12/NCEA Level 2) and there is also an interview. Placement Testing is conducted from at both Auckland and Christchurch Learning Bases.
Please check that you meet the following criteria:
New Zealand Citizens and Residents: 17 years and over.
Once all placement testing is completed, successful applicants will be offered a place on the following years programme.
Placement testing for our Aircraft Maintenance 2025 courses now open at both our Auckland and Christchurch training facility. These are being held from September to December.
Placement testing consists of assessments in English (comprehension), Maths and Physics (based on NCEA Level 2) and an interview.
