Year 10 student Matthew Colvin is a winner of the Orchestras Central and University of Waikato 2022 Composition Competition.

Talented HBHS musician and composer Matthew Colvin has had his original work, A Ballard of Beauty and Brashness, for violin, viola and cello selected to be rehearsed, performed and recorded by the OCT Ensemble, conducted by panel member Rupert D'Cruze.  This performance will take place at Te Whare Tāpere Iti, Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts, University of Waikato on Saturday the 28th of August, 2022 between 10am and 12pm.  

This is an extraordinary honour for such a young composer, and we congratulate Matthew on this achievement.
