1st XI Quadrangular Tournament
On Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd of April, Hamilton Boys' High school hosted the traditional 1st XI Quadrangular Tournament at Korikori Park.
This tournament is organised by HBHS to give our team a pre-season hit out in a competitive setting, and to create positive relationships with schools from other areas.
A total of six games over two days were played, with referees provided by WAIBOP, which included HBHS's own Liam Weston who has come through ranks of the HBHS Referees Academy.
The First XI came away with a goal-less draw against Sacred Heart College from Auckland; a 3-0 win over HIBS from Wellington; and a loss by the odd goal in 3 to New Plymouth Boys' High School from New Plymouth.
Overall it was a really good two days of football with some excellent attacking football on display from all teams.
Mr Scott, fresh back from NZ Secondary Schools U19 Tour of Australia, was keen to introduce a new formation and playing style which provided some good learning for the side to focus on for the upcoming Referees Cup and will create a strong platform for the team going forward.
