πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Athletic Sports Day 2021

Wendy Moffitt —

There were two things that were a little different about our Athletic Sports Day this year. Firstly, Athletic Sports preceeded Swimming Sports, something that the eventual champion on the day, Argyle House, was very happy about as it allowed them to get off to a flying start in this year’s House Competition, and secondly, cloud cover meant that temperatures were kept at a relatively bearable level. Two records were broken, by Liam Davis (Wilson) who set a new fastest time in the Intermediate 2000m Steeplechase of 6’27.38 minutes, and by Jesse Humberstone Kara (Argyle) who broke the Junior Discus record with a throw of 45.71 metres.  Argyle established a handy early gap with a Major Event win over second-placed Taylor in this year's House Competition, and Baigent, Tait and Wilson finished close behind tied for third. Rounding out the results, in last place, because someone had to be, was Steel House. Congratulations to all of our age-group champions and to all of our athletes who competed with such enthusiam. A special thank you to Mr Todd Miller and the HPW Faculty on their efforts to organise another superb day out at Porritt Stadium.
