I am proud to say that this year I had the privilege of leading the greatest team of Prefects the school has to offer. It was an honour to be surrounded by such a determined and accomplished Prefect Committee this year. In focusing on the academic achievement of students in the school, despite the numerous disruptions, we have led a wide range of initiatives including study workshops, homework help tutorials and academic support during times of senior and junior exams. Expanding subject specific and scholarship tutorials also ensured every student could be set up for future academic success. Thank you to all the Academic Honours students that volunteered their time to help run these initiatives. I appreciate the dedication and effort that all of you have shown.

A highlight for many was our annual Academic Quiz Night held in a showdown against both Hillcrest and Diocesan earlier in the year. HBHS remains victorious, notwithstanding a narrow loss to Hillcrest at the end of Term 2. Despite this everyone seemed to have had a great time, especially once the spot prizes were handed out. A big thanks goes to the Academic and Event Prefects from both schools without which this would never have happened.

On behalf of the Academic Committee for 2021, I hope that this has been a rewarding year for you all. It has been an amazing experience to be able to lead and work alongside such a wonderful team of prefects and friends. Our gratitude and thanks goes to Ms Basi for her continued guidance and support throughout the year. Without your countless hours of work and resolve, I am sure that these events would not have run as smoothly as they did. I am excited to see the results by the end of the year and have full confidence that HBHS will continue to excel in the future.
