🏊‍♂️ Quinn Boyle breaks records and swims for charity 🏆

Mark Boyle & Wendy Moffitt —

Year 13 distance swimming legend, Quinn Boyle, competed in the National Ice Swim Championships in the South Island during the July school holidays. Quinn retained his two world records for the Under 18 section in the 250m and 100m. He won a further two National titles in the 18-24 year 250m and 500m at the New Zealand Championships. Ice Swimming would probably be categorised as a snow sport due to the snow and ice conditions. The water temperature Quinn competed in was 2 degrees. Yes, you read that correctly. Two degrees above freezing.

Quinn has also been swimming for the Mike King "I am hope" cause - The Dew Drop Challenge, from Cape Reinga to Wellington (a relay that advocates for and creates awareness of mental health issues) where he recently swam across Lake Tarawera, a distance of 12 km, with Mike King, Rick Wells (Quinn's mentor / skills stroke coach), former Kiwi Rugby League player Richie Barnett, and former All Black Ian Jones.
