🏴 Matthew Allen Cup Tug-O-War 🏋️♂️ 🔴
It was a much-needed win for Henry Seavill's Bennett House in the recent Tug-O-War competition.
It was a cold start for the boys on Wednesday, the 15th of May, yet they were keen to show some strength in Matthew Allen Cup Tug-O-War. The event consisted of eight-a-side Year level teams, with the best of three pulls. Bennett needed a win for any chance at a final victory with Sutherland's lead of 12-4. The Year 9s were up first with a dominant performance by Henry Seavill’s Bennett side, taking victory 2-0 over Tom Martin’s Sutherland. The Year 10s, with an exceptionally close second pull, ended on a 2-0 win for Sutherland. Bennett, looking a little more comfortable after a solid 2-0 victory with the Year 11s, looked a little less confident after having to drop down to seven-a-side for their Year 12s, due to a lack of numbers. A win for Sutherland's Year 12s left the decider for the Year 13s. Starting with a rather easy win for Bennett first pull, made Sutherland get it together for the second. This meant it was all down to the last pull. Bennett House and Henry Seavill took away the overall win, watering a long drought for Bennett. Matthew Allen Cup stands at 12-6 to Tom Martin and a still-confident Sutherland House.
