The 2023 New Zealand Short Course Swimming Championships were held in Hastings from the 8th to the 12th of August, and seven HBHS Swimmers headed there to compete. The team consisted of Kinnon Broekhuizen, Ethan Macdonald, Graysen Elliott, Orlando Hardie, Ari Narayan, Caign Boonen, and Miles Julian. They achieved the following results:

Ethan Macdonald: 🥇🥇🥈🥈🥉

• 100 Backstroke and 200 Back - 🥇 in age group (B Final - Open grade)
• 50 Back and 100 Freestyle - 🥈 in age group (B and C final - Open grade)
• 200 IM - 🥉 in age group 50 Free - 6th in age group 50 Butterfly - 8th in age group

Orlando Hardie: 🥇🥈🥈🥈🥉🥉🥉

• 100 Free - 🥇 in age group (B final - Open grade)
• 100 Individual Medley, 50 Breaststroke and 50 Free - 🥈 in age group (B final for 50 Breast and C final for 100 IM and 50 Free - Open grade)
• 50 Fly, 100 Fly and 200 Fly - 🥉 in age group ( C Finals for 100 Fly and 200 Fly - Open grade)
• 200 Free and 200 IM - 4th in age group ( 200 IM C final - Open grade)

Kinnon Broekhuizen: 🥈

• 1500 Freestyle - 🥈 in age group
• 200 Fly - 7th in age group (B final - Open grade)
• 400IM - 12th in age group (C final - Open grade)
