Congratulations to Year 13 student Edward Young on this achievement.
Edward recently attended a Career Week at the Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS) in New Plymouth. Whilst there he was given the opportunity to learn about hotel operations, including first-hand experience of the various divisions such as front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and marketing. A behind-the-scenes visit to one of New Plymouth’s boutique hotels was a highlight of the week.
As part of the experience, Edward was required to develop a mock website for a Queenstown hotel, based on some of his work during the week. This was then presented to PIHMS staff and other students. Edward and his team impressed with their presentation, and Edward was awarded an $800 scholarship to go towards the costs of a Degree in Hotel Management at PIHMS. We wish Edward well in his future tourism career.
