After a slow start last year (going down 10-0 before their first victory) Bennett have come out firing in this year's Matthew Allen Cup, winning the first event of the year.

First blood in this years Matthew Allen Cup was claimed by Bennett House in a hotly contested affair. 

The MA Cup Swimming Competition is split into relay races across each year group with two teams from each house with each relay team gaining points for their house based on placings. After the relays there is a "Bomb" competition with the points from these events added together for final placings. 

These relays finished as follows: 

Year 9: 

🥇 Bennett 1, 🥈 Sutherland, 🥉 Bennett 2, 4th Sutherland 2 

Year 10: 

🥇 Sutherland 1, 🥈 Bennett 1, 🥉 Bennett 2, 4th Sutherland 2

Year 11: 

🥇 Bennett 1, 🥈 Sutherland 2, 🥉 Bennett 2, 4th Sutherland 2

Year 12: 

🥇 Sutherland 1, 🥈 Bennett 1, 🥉 Sutherland 2, 4th Bennett 1

Year 13: 

🥇 Sutherland, 🥈 Bennett (DQ)

In the bomb competition, Year 9 was won by Bennett, Year 10 by Sutherland, Year 11 - Bennett, Year 12 - Bennett, Year 13 - Sutherland. 

At the conclusion of both of these events, the scores were even and so a tie breaker was needed. 

The decision was made for this to be a "Belly Flop" competition which Bennett were fortunate to take out through Gabriel Simpson.
