Ultimate Frisbee 2022
Our HBHS Ultimate Frisbee team consists of six Year 13s, three Year 11s and one Year 9 in 2022.
For the majority of our team this was their first Nationals and it was a huge learning experience for them all. We grew in confidence from game to game. Our speed around the field led to some exciting points and some tight defense. Liam Weston was our stand-out player whose skill level and fitness kept us in the hunt for many of our games. Our captain, Robert Prescott, showed us his pin point throwing skills by making some lengthy accurate passes. Our most improved player, Nikau Pritchard-Scouller, was everywhere on the field and caused havoc on both offense and defense. Our other senior players Kydian Beets, Nauvoo Dixon, Takalangi Katoa, and Hohaia Keogh all added to our team’s positivity on the field and showed awesome leadership throughout the tournament. Both Matthew Niwa and Joshua Reihana showed some calmness under pressure and also produced some impressive points. Our youngest player Year 9, Avinash Patel, grew in confidence and contributed to the team's development. He will be a force to reckon with in the future.
We ended up in 8th place in the tournament. A big thank you to our Old Boys, Isaiah and Lehi Kapoor, who coached our boys. We look forward to developing our Ultimate programme in the future.
