Bon Voyage to Mr Hotham!

Wendy Moffitt & Greg Kirkham —

We wish our Associate Headmaster, Mr Nigel Hotham, all the very best as he heads to Hong Kong on a two-year sabbatical.

Mr Nigel Hotham departs at the end of this term on a two-year sabbatical, after being at HBHS since 2003. He arrived from Kelston Boys' High School, and has been a member of the school Executive for 21 years. In his time here he has coached the 1st XV, Premier Sevens team and the Premier Touch team to numerous National and International titles, including four wins at the World Sanix Invitational Rugby Tournament in Japan (2010, 2011, 2014, and 2023) and a win in Thailand at the World Schools Rugby Tournament in 2022. Amongst his other duties, he has guided the Prefects of the school, and oversaw co-curricular activities within the school, helping HBHS to become one of the most successful sporting and cultural schools within New Zealand. Nigel heads to Hong Kong to coach the USRC Tigers Rugby Club team in the Senior Men's Club competition and we wish him and Dianne safe travels and a wonderful international experience.
