It was not to be, as our team was overpowered by Tauranga in the final.

Our 1st XI Football team has finished second in the Super 8 Football competition, going down 5-0 to a strong Tauranga Boys' College side.  The team began their campaign with a 1-0 win over Napier on the first day, then followed this with a 0-0 draw against Rotorua.  Day 2 saw the side play with more vigour, as they took an early lead against Tauranga, with the game eventually finishing as a 1-1 draw.  They then faced Palmerston North in the semi-final, and with the game locked at 1-1 at full-time, it came down to a penalty shootout, with HBHS prevailing 6-5.  However, there was no denying Tauranga's dominance in the final, and our team simply had no answers in the end.  Congratulations to our team on finishing second, and thanks and congratulations to coaches Mr Simon Foy and Mr Aaron Scott.
