Softball is one of those sports that is played in the first and fourth term of each year. We started off our 2022 season with 18 enthusiastic and talented students, ranging from Year 9 to Year 13, some new beginner players and other seasoned veterans.

With the support of Tony Snow (Kawana and Manaia's Dad), Ngahuia Cooper (Paora's Mum) and Whaea Randell, we were able to support two HBHS teams that played in our local Waikato Softball Competition at Resthills Park, Hamilton. We fought our way through extensive COVID restrictions and regulations and started our season two weeks after starting school. Both our teams placed in the finals of this local Competition. Unfortunately, our North Island Summer Premierships Competition was cancelled in 2022 due to another, serious COVID outbreak. Fingers crossed, that our 2023 season will bring more playing opportunities.
