Studying in 2023?
If you are applying for a student allowance or student loan you should apply as early as you can to get your correct payments on time, even if you haven't quite finalised what you will be studying.
Check to see if you are eligible for fees free first year of study.
Before you apply:
- Set up a RealMe login or RealMe verified identity
- Make sure the course you’re interested in is a recognised course or programme for Student Loans and Student Allowances.
- You need your course details handy, eg:
- Course start and end dates (you can estimate the dates and update them later).
- Education provider or campus.
- Make sure you have all the other required information handy before you begin so you can easily complete the eligibility test and application.

Forestry Scholarships
Applications for Ngā Karahipi Uru Rākau – (Forestry Scholarships) are open to study the Diploma in Forest Management at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, Rotorua campus, in 2023.
Closing date, Friday, Dec 16th.
This is an amazing opportunity for anyone thinking about studying Forest Management next year.
We are particularly interested in encouraging both Māori and/or those who identify as female into higher-level forestry qualifications, to create greater diversity in the sector.

Scholarships available
Three forestry scholarships are available to study the Diploma in Forest Management at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology at the Rotorua campus.
Successful recipients will receive:
· $7,000 a year for 2 years (the length of the diploma) to help with tuition fees and living costs.
· A paid summer internship facilitated by Te Uru Rākau – New Zealand Forest Service.
