🏊♂️ Quinn Boyle's achievements in distance swimming during Summer Tournament Week
Reflects on his week of competition and dedicates his ultra-marathon swim to Nick Hobson, on Sunday 3rd April.
"I would like to thank you all for your support of my swimming achievements. Without your financial support and mentoring this would not have been possible for my family and I.
I placed many times on the podium at the NZ Secondary Schools' open championships at the Mount on Saturday. I was swimming for Hamilton Boys' High School. Our school ended up as the overall boys school winner.
My greatest achievement this weekend though was to be the first person to officially swim the Firth of Thames ultra marathon 24.2 km from Wilsons Bay Coromandel to Kawakawa Bay, north of Auckland. I am dedicating this special swim to Nick Hobson who sadly passed away swimming the Cook Straight with me. It meant a lot and I hope his family finds peace knowing this.
Once again thank-you all so much and I hope to achieve a lot more success with hard mahi in the future".
