Our Colts are Waikato Champions after a 45 run win over St Peter's School Cambridge in the final.

The HBHS Colts Red Cricket team played against St Peter's School Cambridge Colts in the final of the Waikato Secondary Schools Colts Cricket competition over the weekend. The final was played at St Peter's School.  HBHS captain Reid Bishop won the toss and chose to bat first. (A tactic that has served the team well over the season).  The HBHS middle order batsmen Reid Bishop (48 runs), Caleb Grice (77 runs) and Taine Grover (98 runs) helped get the team to a healthy total of 267 for 5 after the allotted 40 overs.  Taine Grover was particularly impressive in the way he accelerated the scoring in the last 10 overs, scoring his 98 runs (not out) off just 72 balls. St Peter's batted well from the start and made our bowlers work hard to earn their wickets. However, due to some smart bowling changes by captain Reid Bishop and impressive bowling by Sam Rutter (1/25), Ben Cooper (2/30), Caleb Grice (3/35) and Finn Cookson (2/30), St Peter's was bowled out for 222 runs, giving HBHS Colts Red the win by an impressive 45 runs.

The final concludes what has been a very pleasing and successful Term 1 cricket season.  All the boys should be proud of their efforts and the positive contributions they have made to the success of the team over the seven game season.
