π Junior Cricketers get an experience of a lifetime in South Africa πΏπ¦
Aditya Gulla (Year 9) and Jackson Botherway (Year 10) are currently on a six week cricket exchange in Cape Town, South Africa. They will go to school and play for Diocesan College, better known as Bishops, a prestigious, independent Anglican boysβ school. Besides being one of the top academic schools in South Africa, it has produced the second most South African test cricketers as well as 35 Springbok rugby players. Jackson and Aditya will play for the Bishops 14A team, and besides playing the local Saturday league games, will have the opportunity to play a couple of Day/Night games, as Bishops has a floodlight oval. They will also get to work with Brad Barnes, ex-first-class player and one of the finest coaches in South Africa. The exchange was set-up by Mr Eric Lefson, HBHS Head of Cricket and Old Boy of Bishops, and their ex-1st Team Coach. Although this is the first such exchange, it is hoped over time it will expand as HBHS hopes to give their top cricketers an opportunity to experience the game in other parts of the world and grow as both players and young men. In March 2024, HBHS will reciprocate by hosting two Bishops cricketers.
