🏴 Argyle House, Runners Up in the 2023 HBHS House Competition... again! 🥈

Murray McKenzie —

Argyle House finished 7½ points behind this year's winners, Wilson House.

House Basketball was the final of the 15 House events in the 2023 competition, concluding in Week 2 of Term 4.

After the completion of all scheduled house events, Argyle House had six victories in Athletics, Touch, Cross Country, Tug-O-War, Rowing and Cricket, and two runner-up finishes in Haka and Volleyball.

Placing 1st or 2nd in 8 of the 15 events is some achievement - with Chess and General Knowledge still our Achilles heel, where all the other Houses catch us up on the leaderboard!

The Hamilton BHS House competition is such a tough competition to win, as we’re up against the entire school.

House Captain, Harry Grainger, and his Deputy House Captain, Johno O’Brien, did an outstanding job consistently throughout the year.

There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work that is required to get our boys to be in the right place at the right time for each House event.

Thanks to all Argyle House boarders who contributed to the success of the Argyle teams this year.

Runners-up in two consecutive years is not what we are about!

We will now look forward to 2024 in the hope we can do what we achieved in 2021, to come away as House Champions! 🏆🥇
