Andy Thomson —

The recently released NCEA results highlight our students' continued academic success.

Across the Hostel, students achieved commendable results in NCEA in 2024. The pass rate for Level 1 was 46% (lower due to the school's programme), while Level 2 saw a significantly higher pass rate of 94%. At Level 3, an impressive 91% of students successfully met the requirements, and 57% of our Year 13 students attained University Entrance.

A comparison between boarders and day students reveals interesting trends in achievement. 97% of boarders managed to gain literacy, while 87% of day students met the requirement. Numeracy rates were also strong at Argyle House, with boarders achieving a 100% success rate, while 88% of day students reached the benchmark. In Year 12, 94% of boarders gained Level 2, compared to 86% of day students. The results for UE Literacy were close, with 46% of boarders and 51% of day students achieving the required level. By Year 13, 91% of boarders obtained Level 3, significantly higher than the day students. However, both groups achieved an equal 57% success rate for University Entrance.

Many students earned NCEA Endorsement, a reflection of their hard work throughout the year. In Level 2, Ben Morris and Jack Higgins achieved Excellence Endorsements.

Several students also attained Merit Endorsements at Level 2, including Alex Arnold, Alex Brown, Hamish Fulton, George Palmer, Haylow Paraha-Senior, Liam Ramsey, and Max Tarrant.

These results showcase the dedication of students and staff and reflect a positive trajectory in academic performance. Argyle House remains committed to fostering excellence and supporting students in achieving their academic goals.

Congratulations to all who worked hard to achieve these outstanding results!
