HBHS SGCNZ Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival

Harry White —

A group of 9 HBHS students travelled to Wellington over Queen's Birthday to perform scenes from Shakespeare's Othello.

Following their win at the Waikato Regionals, the HBHS Sheilah Winn Shakespeare group had a very successful experience at the National Festival. HBHS's 15-minute performance won three awards; the Best use of Design (for their use of large steel cubes), Best use of Music and the highly coveted Most Thought-Provoking Performance prize.

Following this, two students, Matthew Lee and Harry White, have been accepted to the National Shakespeare Schools Production and will be travelling down the country to further develop their skills through a range of workshops.

Special thanks from the boys and the school to Mr Dwight Ashton (Director) and Ms Jamieson Hudson (Costume/FX) for travelling to Wellington and spending their time working with the boys.
